Hanse 590 sailing yacht to have world premiere at Cannes

The world’s second largest manufacturer of sailing yachts, Germany’s HanseYachts, is to launch its biggest model yet – the Hanse 590 – at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.

Built in collaboration with designers at Berret-Racoupeau, the 59ft sailing vessel will be available in 36 possible layout combinations and her numerous customisation options are said to be unique for a boat of this class.

The Hanse 590 offers stability, performance and space

The design of the Hanse 590 with her typical Hanse chines not only provides stability and performance, but also an enormous amount of space and therefore an unusually high level of comfort, the company says.

Features include a bathing platform that can be extended into a beach club, a tender garage for a dinghy up to 3.1m in length, a hydraulic gangway, a sun lounge with awning on the foredeck, a separate crew cabin and large cooling capacities.

Like all Hanses, the Hanse 590 stands for fast cruising and easy sailing. All the main lines are led to the two helm stations, from where the skipper has full control of the yacht. It is also fully suitable for single-handed sailing. The standard bowsprit with second forestay extends the sailing options for even higher performance of the yacht on the water.

“With the Hanse 590, the largest model in our current range, we have redefined comfort with many innovative solutions,” says Hanjo Runde, CEO of HanseYachts.

The tall and sporty rig of the Hanse 590 with its generous sail area of 151m² upwind and up to 326m² downwind ensures high performance potential. The bowsprit with integrated anchor arm and second forestay makes it easy and convenient to select the most suitable headsail for the wind and weather conditions at any time.

Electric winches are just as much a part of the typical Hanse easy handling as the obligatory self-tacking jib. High-performance SPS Sustainable Performance Sails from Elvstrøm, made predominantly from recycled materials, are available as an environmentally friendly material option for the sails.

The Hanse 590 can also be equipped with solar panels on the roof and the T- top as well as a fuel cell.
