Optimus 360 Joystick Control now compatible with full line of OXE diesel outboards

Dometic Marine president Eric Fetchko says customer demand drove the firm to extend the compatibility of its joystick control to include OXE diesel outboards

Dometic Marine announced on Wednesday that the company has extended the compatibility of its Optimus 360 joystick control to now include OXE diesel outboards.

The company notes that its Optimus electro-hydraulic steering and Optimus 360 Joystick system can now be fitted to the entire range of OXE diesel outboards from 125 to 300 horsepower in twin installations.

“OXE Marine has proven itself to be at the cutting edge of developing clean, efficient diesel outboard power for a wide range of vessels,” said Dometic Marine president Eric Fetchko. “Integrating our Optimus steering and Optimus Joystick control with the company’s entire line of outboards — including the flagship OXE 300 — will prove to be an important development for our business, and a benefit to more sustainable marine industry around the world.”

The announcement came as part of a Dometic press briefing at METSTRADE on Wednesday. Also highlighted were the firm’s accomplishments toward greater electrification in its marine business and new products including its DAME Award-nominated Optimus electric steering actuator for wake boats, its marine power management system, the new Dometic marine gateway, and a branding refresh to its Sierra aftermarket parts business.
