Garmin was named NMEA’s manufacturer of the year for the eighth consecutive year while picking up product of excellence awards for its GPSMAP 8616xsv MFD, Reactor 40 hydraulic autopilot, Fusion Apollo RA770 multimedia entertainment system, ActiveCaptain marine app and Vesper Cortex M1 AIS system
The US-based National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) has awarded Garmin International with its prestigious Manufacturer of the Year award for the eighth consecutive year.
The company was honoured with the accolade in the large manufacturer category at the NMEA annual conference and awards banquet, held last week in California.
Garmin was also awarded five product of excellence awards in the multi-function display (MFD), autopilot, multimedia entertainment, mobile application-utility, and automatic identification system (AIS) categories.
These awards are voted on by NMEA dealers who specialise in installing marine electronics, qualified NMEA technicians and fellow marine electronics manufacturers.
“We’re proud to be a part of the NMEA and honoured to be held in such high regard by our industry peers and customers as the Manufacturer of the Year,” said Garmin’s vice president of global consumer sales, Dan Bartel.
“These awards represent our unwavering commitment to design, manufacture, sell and support the best marine electronics in the industry, and they validate the hard work and dedication of our entire team.”
