Electric propulsion systems manufacturer ePropulsion Americas has extended its popular eLite product offering with a new long-shaft version unveiled this week.
The firm’s all-new eLite 500W Long Shaft electric outboard is described as an ideal power option for drift boats and inflatable fishing boats with transoms over 15 inches in height. Measuring 41 inches in total length and weighing 16.1 pounds including its built-in battery, the motor retains the tiller control which doubles as a carrying handle of the original while incorporating a new mounting bracket mechanism said to be more durable and easier to use.

ePropulsion Americas president Tom Watson says the unit’s direct-drive motor and advanced design propeller deliver high efficiency with near-silent operation.
“We were thrilled with the industry and market reaction to the launch of our versatile eLite and we’re excited to enhance that line with the introduction of the eLite Long Shaft,” he said. “Whether looking for a reliable motor for an inflatable fishing boat or tender, the perfect engine should be lightweight, easy to mount and remove, easy to use and provide the range and speed for almost any conditions. We considered all of this when creating the next generation of the eLite and we’re confident these outboards check all of the boxes.”
Standard features on the eLite Long Shaft include multiple trim and tilt angles, adjustable steering resistance and shaft length, and a shallow-water mode. The motor is compatible with ePropulsion’s Smart Battery Monitoring System (BMS) and IP67 rated.
