Norway’s Frydenbø Boats, builder of the Nordkapp and Sting boat brands, has reported strong growth in recent years and is now planning a major international expansion. France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Croatia and Austria are the first countries to be targeted, the company says.
Historically around 90% of Nordkapp boats are sold in the Nordics, with Norway and Sweden performing very well.
Ronny Antonsen, part owner and member of the i Frydenbø Boats board, told Norwegian magazine Båtmagasinet that the company has a turnover of NOK 447m with a production of 650 boats annually.
According to Antonsen, domestic demand for Nordkapp has gone down recently with a higher rate of growth reported in international markets.
Nordkapp plans to boost sales through its cooperation with Mercury Marine as an engine provider. The boats are produced at a new 7,000m² production facility in Augustów, Poland.
