Italian builder Rossinavi delivered the 50m (164ft) No Stress Two to its new owner last week. The yard’s inaugural hybrid vessel featuring artificial intelligence is part of Rossnavi’s Blue series. She was launched in April.
Rossinavi is emphasising the incorporation of AI technology as they advance toward creating more environmentally sustainable hybrid vessels.
Federico Rossi, the company’s COO, highlighted the advantages of AI in enhancing the onboard electric experience. No Stress Two offers five operational modes, ranging from full diesel power to full electric.
The yacht’s fast-displacement hull design revolves around its hybrid system, which includes two electric motors and diesel propulsion, although specific sizes were not disclosed.
The five operational modes cater to various needs, from high-speed diesel propulsion to silent cruising on full electric power. There is also a mode designed for the yacht’s hotel functions.
Rossinavi’s website outlines several functions of its AI system, such as monitoring the battery pack to maintain it within the optimal charge range of 20% to 80%. Additionally, the AI engages in dialogue with the crew in “permissible ways” to minimise environmental impact by suggesting operational adjustments throughout the vessel.
Federico Rossi expressed enthusiasm for the future, anticipating further optimisation of this technology next year with the launch of the Sea Cat, a 141ft catamaran expected to operate on electric-only mode for an entire day.
