Schmitt & Ongaro rebrands

New Schmitt Steering Wheels and Ongaro Marine business units to operate under Schmitt Marine corporate umbrella

Supporting the new branding effort are a series of new logos for both the two new business units and the parent firm

Pennsylvania, US-based marine equipment manufacturer Schmitt & Ongaro Marine Products has rebranded as Schmitt Marine.

Under the new company branding structure the company’s stainless steel and polyurethane marine steering wheel business will now operate as Schmitt Steering Wheels, while production, distribution and sales of its horns and wiper systems will fall under new Ongaro Marine branding.

“Since Schmitt acquired Ongaro Marine in 2008, there’s been confusion in the marketplace as to the relationship between our products and our legacy company names,” explained Schmitt Marine president, Tim Schmitt. “The rebranding simplifies our image and better defines our product lines. It also provides a wider avenue from which we can evolve and grow our offerings in exciting, new directions.”

In support of the rebranding effort, the firm has also introduced new logos for all three entities, with the Schmitt Marine logo subtly incorporating stylised S and O letters in homage to the original company names.

Subsequent phases of the rebranding process will include a website redesign, updated literature, and other marketing and sales collateral.
