Award-winning 55m Alia superyacht Al Waab completes multi-month refit

The 54.9-metre Alia superyacht Al Waab has been relaunched following a comprehensive refit at Endema Shipyard in Antalya, Turkey. Works, which encompassed technical servicing as well as exterior and interior refurbishments, began last October and were completed this month.

“This being our first comprehensive maintenance and operational upgrade period, we greatly appreciated the professionalism and dedication of the Endema team,” said Al-Waab’s captain. “Their contribution will undoubtedly form the basis of a long-term collaboration.”

Al Waab has emerged from Endema Shipyard with a refreshed exterior paintjob, teak decking and light interior refurbishments, alongside several mechanical upgrades. This includes stabiliser, thruster propeller and shaft maintenance and servicing of the main engines and generators.

The superyacht has also undergone an overhaul of her windlass and had her underwater lights replaced.

Delivered in 2021 by Turkish yard Alia Yachts, Al Waab’s “homogeneous design”, including the “elegant drama” of her interiors, resulted in two wins at the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards and a Judges Commendation at the 2022 World Superyacht Awards.

Her sub-500GT, Vripack-designed layout houses a surprising number of interior spaces, including a breakfast nook attached to the main saloon, a gym and a statement, three-deck staircase comprised of glittering, gold-studded acrylic. According to the yard, Al Waab also offers an estimated 42 per cent more exterior space than comparable yachts in her size class.
