GX Superyachts has offered a first look inside its flagship GX42 superyacht Merinos, following her world premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 41.8-metre yacht was launched in August this year at Turkish shipyard SES Yachts in Istanbul. Marco Casali, founder of Too Design, is responsible for her exterior and interior design, while her naval architecture was developed by Francesco Rogantin, founder of Italian firm NAMES Studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This same integrated and efficiency-led philosophy extends into the design, where the interiors have been conceived around extended family life on board. Social spaces are concentrated on the main and upper decks, with a dining area for up to 10 guests, a comfortable saloon and an expansive upper deck with lounging areas, sunbeds, a bar and a Jacuzzi.<\/p>\n\n\n

The raised pilot house, elegantly curved superstructure and low-profile upper deck create space for a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck, complete with a private foredeck terrace. The lower deck boasts a generous VIP suite with a fold-down balcony and three additional guest cabins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walnut, Italian leather, stone and neutral fabrics create a warm, tactile interior environment, with broad-radius curves throughout. Backlit Turkish marble, liquid-metal panels and curated artworks provide focal points, while floor-to-ceiling windows maximise natural light. Direct and indirect lighting shifts the atmosphere from bright and social to intimate and relaxed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This slender, energy-efficient hull features a parallel diesel-electric hybrid system, integrated solar generation and nearly 1 MWh of battery storage. It cruises at 9 knots with a range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles. GX Superyachts claims up to 48 hours of zero-emission anchoring and a 45 per cent reduction in onboard electricity consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The GX42 is the result of a very clear philosophy: efficiency should be engineered into the yacht from the outset, rather than added afterwards through individual technologies,\u201d said Vladimir Zinchenko, CEO and founder of GX Superyachts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued: \u201cBy integrating a parallel hybrid propulsion system, substantial battery storage, solar generation, an efficiency-led hull and intelligent energy management, we have created an energy architecture in which every element works together.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First unveiled during the Monaco Yacht Show 2024 as the first in a planned series of yachts ranging from 24 to 56 metres, the launch of Merinos follows a significant leadership change at GX Superyachts.
