{"id":1823,"date":"2021-09-23T10:24:45","date_gmt":"2021-09-23T02:24:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/?p=1823"},"modified":"2021-09-23T10:24:46","modified_gmt":"2021-09-23T02:24:46","slug":"marseille-launches-consultation-on-e25m-marina-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/en\/uncategorized\/archives\/1823","title":{"rendered":"Marseille launches consultation on \u20ac25m marina project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"504\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/0921en.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1824\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/0921en.jpg 504w, https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/0921en-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>New marina to be ready for Paris 2024 Olympic Games<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The municipal authorities of Marseille have launched a new public consultation on a \u20ac25m (US$30m) project to build a new marina in Roucas-Blanc, one of the city\u2019s districts located on the French Mediterranean coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Herv\u00e9 Menchon, Deputy Mayor of Marseille, told local daily La Provence that the consultation was initiated to analyse the project\u2019s impact on the city\u2019s renowned Corniche boulevard, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is to ensure a berthing capacity for 600 craft, compared with the 300 berths provided by the city\u2019s existing marina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the next summer Olympic Games approaching, Marseille, which will host the event\u2019s sailing competitions, could face difficulties with completing the project on schedule. Under the initial plan, land-based work on the marina was to begin this November, allowing it to be completed in the second half of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Roucas Blanc Marina must meet the International Olympic Committee standards for the organisation of Olympic sailing events.
