The 117-metre L\u00fcrssen superyacht Boardwalk (previously Project 13797) has been spotted leaving the yard’s facilities in Bremen, Germany, for delivery to her owner. According to BOATPro, she is now en route to Gibraltar, after which she is expected to head to the Mediterranean for the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new build was last sighted earlier this year, in March, heading to sea trials in the North Sea, after her launch in December 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A blend of European craftsmanship and American design, Boardwalk was commissioned in 2022 by an American owner who, according to the yard, was “personally involved throughout the design process, spending hours refining structural and spatial elements down to the minutest detail.” The yacht’s classical lines are the work of Frank Woll, while her interiors were born from a collaboration with the late Amy Halffman, Suzanne Glover and Teresa Francis.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cI believe nature is one of the finest architects,\u201d commented Woll. \u201cThe starting point for Boardwalk was the fluid and streamlined geometry of the sea\u2019s most agile marine life, sculpted by water itself. In the evening, when she is on display, we are revealing her timeless clarity of form with a constellation of lights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind her traditional architecture and sculpted bulwarks, Boardwalk is said to offer 5,602GT of living space decorated in high-gloss burled mahogany, polished stainless steel and “complex double-convex forms”. Light was key to her design, with fixtures chosen to extend the sensation of movement inside.<\/p>\n\n\n

Designed as a family retreat on the water, Boardwalk’s expansive decks welcome an array of entertainment areas, two helipads \u2013 one of which is certified and positioned forward on the guest deck \u2013 a sizeable beach club and a large swimming pool and adjoining Jacuzzi set flush into the main aft deck. The same deck also introduces an innovation “never before featured on a L\u00fcrssen”: a retractable section installed over the stairwell connecting to the beach club, that, when closed, is hermetically sealed and class-approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stairwell came as an evolution of something similar on board the yard’s 136-metre Hadar (ex Flying Fox), though the yard revealed it is the first time a sliding structural plate has been fitted to reveal a stairwell, with the upper steps deploying automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n

Boardwalk features around 3,000 points of exterior lighting (one-third more than is conventional for a yacht of this scale, the yard notes), while her maximalist volume \u2013 where even her corridors were stretched as wide as the structure would permit \u2013 saw a clever concentration of piping, cabling and technical systems. A notable highlight is her engine room, where lies a “glass-walled catwalk”, transforming the space into a gallery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nearby, a large tender garage stores three custom 12-metre Hodgdon tenders, an amphibious tender, off-road 4x4s, as well as other land-based vehicles. According to the yard, a cinema, putting green and a spacious spa and gym are also offered inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accommodation is across 11 cabins, including a forward VIP suite with an onyx-finished en suite and a private al fresco lounge overlooking the bow. The remaining cabins each feature direct access to the wide side deck via glass doors, in turn creating large private terraces.<\/p>\n\n\n

“Our singular job as a shipyard is to translate a vision into an operational vessel,\u201d commented Peter L\u00fcrssen. \u201cAt L\u00fcrssen, this also means exceeding expectations, but this can only be achieved through clear and accurate conversations. The lines of communication throughout this build had exceptional clarity. For this, I am incredibly grateful, and I believe the results speak for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boardwalk’s name suggests she is the successor to the 76.5-metre Feadship yacht Boardwalk (recently renamed Boardwalk V), which entered the market in September last year. Before that, the same owner had a Westport 164, also called Boardwalk, now known as Night Howl.<\/p>\n\n\n

The new build is built of steel and aluminium and has an 18.6-metre beam. Following her delivery, she now becomes the 21st largest yacht (by length) built by L\u00fcrssen, surpassing the famed Ahpo by only 1.9 metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Boardwalk is unlike any L\u00fcrssen before her and is among the largest traditionally styled yachts ever to be built, both in length and volume,” a statement from the yard read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
