Young Parisian design firm Aeri Studio has unveiled a new 42-metre motor yacht concept, known as Glide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to studio founder Julien Cadro, the design seeks to challenge conventional superyacht planning through “radical openness and a deeply human approach” to life on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glide has been developed to avoid the “default compartmentalisation” often found in yachts in this size range, where rooms are “predictable”. Instead, the 42-metre (with a volume of sub-500GT) has been drawn around the idea of fluidity.<\/p>\n\n\n

As such, the main deck is laid out as a single, continuous space, spanning the yacht’s full 8.8-metre beam. Pride of place is the main saloon, which has been curated to dissolve the boundary between dining, relaxation and entertainment. It features a dedicated dining area, a “resting zone” and a media space, all benefiting from the yacht’s generous volume and tall, expansive glazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The result is a space that shifts effortlessly depending on the moment: intimate over a candlelit dinner, expansive during a lazy afternoon at sea, animated when guests gather in the evening,” read a statement from the studio.<\/p>\n\n\n

Heading outwards, the yacht’s defining feature is found aft, where lies a full-beam pool, said to be the “centrepiece” of an exterior wellness area. Here, a sunbed sits within a shallow pool, allowing the far-reaching horizon views to rest at eye level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of accommodation, Glide’s full-beam master suite also benefits from the idea of generosity and fluidity on board. Cadro noted that, rather than \u201cmaximising cabins at the expense of quality\u201d – an approach he believes \u201cplagues\u201d many 40-metre-plus projects – the owner\u2019s suite prioritises space and comfort throughout, from the open-plan wardrobe concept to the expansive en suite.<\/p>\n\n\n

Guest accommodation is across four cabins, while four further cabins are dedicated to crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
