{"id":1758,"date":"2021-05-18T16:56:22","date_gmt":"2021-05-18T08:56:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/?p=1758"},"modified":"2021-09-22T16:56:39","modified_gmt":"2021-09-22T08:56:39","slug":"akzonobel-accelerates-sustainability-efforts-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/en\/latest-news\/archives\/1758","title":{"rendered":"AkzoNobel accelerates sustainability efforts in China"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Around 8,000 solar panels are being installed at facilities in Shanghai and Guangzhou<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"574\" height=\"316\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/0518en.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1759\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/0518en.png 574w, https:\/\/www.boatshowchina.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/0518en-300x165.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 574px) 100vw, 574px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than 5,000 solar panels are being installed at AkzoNobel\u2019s Shanghai site<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dutch paint and performance coatings specialist AkzoNobel is finalising the installation of around 8,000 solar panels at its facilities in China \u2013 a move designed to accelerate the company\u2019s plans to cut carbon emissions in half by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The panels are being installed at two Decorative Paints plants \u2013 more than 5,000 at the Shanghai site and almost 3,000 in Guangzhou.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIncreasing the amount of renewable energy we use is a key part of our People. Planet. Paint. approach to doing business more sustainably,\u201d explains Wijnand Bruinsma, AkzoNobel\u2019s Program Manager for Sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe new installations will make an important contribution to our ongoing sustainability achievements in China and will help drive us towards our overall goal of moving to 100% renewable electricity by 2030.\u201d<br>The new solar systems will become the primary source of power at each location.
