Brokerage firm Northrop & Johnson has shared a first look on board the 62-metre Ares Yachts flagship sailing yacht Simena.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The unveiling comes ahead of the new build’s attendance at the Palma International Boat Show next week, where she will be the largest yacht on display this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flagship hit the water in July 2025 and, following extensive sea trials, departed the Turkish shipyard’s Antalya sheds last month. She made her maiden voyage to Monaco, where she debuted at the Explorer Dock of the Yacht Club de Monaco Marina, as a “central feature” of the Yacht Club\u2019s Day of Exploration programme. Simena<\/em> is currently listed for sale, asking <\/em>\u20ac45,900,000.<\/p>\n\n\n

Built to RINA Class C in steel\u2013carbon composite with lines owed to Taka Yacht Design, the ketch sailing yacht has been inspired by a “gentler age of sail” and is loosely modelled after a clipper ship. This is seen best in the bow, with its full-rigged bowsprit and trail board. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She features traditional teak decks and varnished Sipo mahogany exteriors, and in line with her classical design approach, her name is a nod to the centuries of maritime heritage located within the ancient Turkish city. According to her brokers, Simena <\/em>is believed to be “the largest ever built for a yacht of her type”.<\/p>\n\n\n

New images now reveal the flagship’s contemporary Design Unlimited interior, which showcases a “clean, relaxed geometry” with a walnut and neutral colour palette throughout. Tonal textured leathers and fabrics are peppered with antiqued brass accents – something particularly noticeable in the main saloon, which features low-profile sofa seating to one side and a dining table to the other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Tucker, creative director of Design Unlimited, previously described her interior as “a relaxed and refined sanctuary, fit for escapism and the entertaining of family and friends when required.” Careful attention was paid to the soft, rounded edges of her furniture, the generous handrails and the clean design of her cabins.<\/p>\n\n\n

To align with her “golden era of yachting”, modern comforts have been covertly included to maintain clean, clear visuals, such as television lifts within the forward main deck owner’s suite and saloon. Simena<\/em>‘s total accommodation is for up to nine crew and 12 guests – the latter of which will have a dedicated smartphone application that allows them to interact with the yacht’s AV and entertainment systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forward on the main deck lies the owner’s suite (described as “grand” by her brokers), which is complete with a separate bathroom with a freestanding bath, a dressing room and a lounge area. The remaining guest accommodation comprises three double guest cabins and two twins. Crew accommodations are designed with a captain’s cabin and three twin crew bunk cabins aft, nearby to a fully equipped galley, crew mess, dry storage and engine room. <\/p>\n\n\n

Exterior decks offer ample space for sunbathing, dining and entertaining; the aft deck is home to a Jacuzzi, lounge seating and a sheltered dining table, while the flybridge (accessed via an automatic sliding glass companionway) offers further sunpads and twin helm stations with panoramic visibility. There is also a side-opening swim platform and a crane for launching custom tenders and water toys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simena<\/em> is powered by a hybrid propulsion system that offers six operating modes for a range of cruising conditions. In electric mode, silent cruising is achieved at up to eight knots, with a range of 6,000 nautical miles at seven knots.<\/p>\n\n\n

When operating on diesel power, the sailing yacht can reach a top speed of 14.5 knots with a cruising speed of 11 knots, offering a 4,000-nautical-mile range. Under sail, she offers a top speed of 16 knots in 20-knot wind at a 100-degree wind angle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the recent departure of Simena<\/em>, heads turn to the yard’s other projects, including the 50-metre Spitfire,<\/em> which is currently under construction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
