Italian shipyard\u00a0Sanlorenzo\u00a0has lifted the lid on the second in-build superyacht from its flagship 74Steel line, named\u00a0Virtuosity,\u00a0<\/em>which, once launched, will become the yard’s largest build to date.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 73-metre superyacht follows the first from the\u00a0Zuccon International Project-designed line, the 72-metre\u00a0Silver Fox,\u00a0<\/em>which was launched in October last year, and will be built on the same engineered platform and diesel-electric configuration. However, hull two introduces features “never seen before on a superyacht”, according to the yard, including a living tree rising through two decks, a submerged aquarium integrated into the hull and a 230-square-metre “Ocean Resort”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where\u00a0Silver Fox\u00a0<\/em>features interiors penned by\u00a0Francesco Paszkowski Design, in collaboration with Margherita Casprini,\u00a0Virtuosity\u00a0<\/em>will feature an interior design by Studio Paolo Ferrari in collaboration with Sanlorenzo\u2019s Style Department.<\/p>\n\n\n

The project was commissioned in collaboration with Fraser<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shipyard noted that the new build has been developed over more than four years of continuous dialogue and collaboration with her owner (including 18 months of weekly calls before the design phase), resulting in a “fully bespoke spatial concept”. Construction began in 2022, according to\u00a0BOATPro, with\u00a0Virtuosity<\/em>‘s delivery slated for this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“With this yacht, we chose to rethink onboard architecture from its very foundations,\u201d said Tommaso Vincenzi, CEO of Sanlorenzo. “74Steel\u00a0Virtuosity<\/em>\u00a0represents a decisive step forward in the way we conceive space on board. From the integration of living nature to the transformation of technical volumes into experiential environments, every choice stems from a clear architectural vision. Innovation here is not about excess, but about coherence and balance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Taking pride of place within the main deck is the Ficus Nitida: a species of banyan tree which will rise through an oval void between two decks. The yard explained that the tree has been carefully selected for its botanical criteria and was chosen even before the first structural block was assembled. Two lateral skylights at floor level channel natural light downward to assist the plant’s growth as well as the onboard atmosphere, resulting in a controlled micro ecosystem for the tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main saloon curves around the tree, with lounge seating and a bar area forward, while a triple-height lobby with a dark lacquered aluminium staircase and lift, and a custom wine cellar are situated amidships. Forward, the guest area includes two cabins, one VIP and the first of two owner\u2019s suites, with a bed facing the window for larger dressing and bathroom areas.<\/p>\n\n\n

A light-toned palette and custom furniture define the interior spaces<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bridge deck continues the indoor-outdoor approach with a winter garden veranda, a formal dining table and bar area and a lobby with a walk-in wine cellar. Two further guest cabins are also found on this deck, with the captain’s cabin positioned adjacent to the wheelhouse. Total guest accommodation is for up to 16, with a crew of up to 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Above, the dedicated owner’s deck is home to the second owner’s suite (approximately 140 square metres inside and out), a cinema lounge aft and a “reflecting” glass-bottomed pool overlooking the bow. The forward space has been developed as a multifunctional platform with removable seating and a sensory shower. On the sundeck, what was once an external area has been redesigned to house a gym with opening glazing at the bow, stern and sides.<\/p>\n\n\n

The upper deck’s aft area is curated for informal dining and convivial relaxation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lower deck is home to Virtuosity<\/em>‘s “Ocean Resort”, a beach area which spans 18 metres and exceeds 230 square metres – approximately 40 per cent larger than the space on board Silver Fox<\/em>. Here, fold-down platforms and a walk-around layout expand the area over the sea, bathed in light from the large glass-bottomed pool of the aft deck above. A DJ booth transforms the daytime water lounge (with its array of water toys) into a club space at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forward of this, an aquarium lies within the wellness area, which itself is home to a hammam, sauna, massage room, cryotherapy, posarium and an opening terrace. A partially submerged glazed section of the hull transforms the side shell into a window below the waterline with seating to enjoy the views.<\/p>\n\n\n

Compared to\u00a0Silver Fox<\/em>, the bow on board\u00a0Virtuosity<\/em>\u00a0has evolved from a vertical look to a more arrow-shaped approach with a “sportier chromatic” identity. Key specs include a 13.1-metre beam and a 3.8-metre draught. Alongside her one-metre longer LOA,\u00a0Virtuosity\u00a0<\/em>features an interior volume of 1,950GT – 50GT larger than that of\u00a0Silver Fox,\u00a0<\/em>making her the largest yacht built by the Italian shipyard to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith the 74Steel\u00a0Virtuosity<\/em>\u00a0we embraced a true change of scale, but above all a change of perspective,\u201d explained Bernardo Zuccon, co-founder of Zuccon International Project. \u201cIt was not simply about designing the largest yacht ever built by Sanlorenzo, but about interpreting a very precise vision of the owner and translating it into naval architecture. In this sense,\u00a0Virtuosity<\/em>\u00a0is not merely a new model, but a shared process that allowed a personal dream to take shape within a solid and recognisable structure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Virtuosity <\/em>is expected to reach top speeds of 15 knots, cruising speeds of 12 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
