Italian studio SY Design has unveiled a new 45-metre explorer yacht concept known as Anvil.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design revolves around a core philosophy \u2013 where contrast is the design language. In one sense, the hull is compact, the bow strong and slightly inverted and the volumes are “readable from a distance”. \u00a0This “heavy” design is contrasted by the distinctly lighter superstructure, which is drawn to appear as if it is floating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anvil has been conceived to “redefine onboard living” through innovation, functionality and design. This includes a layout developed to optimise both the guest experience and operational efficiency, in a modern interpretation of living at sea for the next generation of yacht owners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key element of the design is the reconfiguration of the propulsion system, which spans only one deck (instead of the traditional two) and allows for additional volume throughout. As a result, Anvil offers a spacious saloon with direct access to the aft cockpit and its semi-recessed pool, the latter of which has been developed as a hub for relaxation and social interaction. Inside, the saloon features a living area, dining space and a “guest-accessible kitchen”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accommodation is across four double guest cabins, each designed to ensure comfort and privacy. The crew area also comprises four double cabins, though a captain\u2019s cabin is located near the wheelhouse for efficient navigation. The upper deck is dedicated to the owner, with 47 square metres of interior space, a forward lounge area and a generous 50-square-metre private aft deck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on its design approach for Anvil, a statement from the studio read: “Every visual tension is a response. When imbalance is intentional, it becomes harmony.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
