Finnish builder Baltic Yachts<\/a> has announced a construction milestone for its 37-metre custom cruising sloop. The hull has been successfully demoulded at the yard’s Jakobstad facility, with delivery expected in autumn 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A high-performance, bluewater cruiser, Malcolm McKeon<\/a> is responsible for the yacht’s naval architecture and exterior styling, while interiors are the work of Adam Lay Studio<\/a>. The design brief focused on extensive family cruising with an emphasis on “safe and reliable systems using well-proven technologies”. <\/p>\n\n\n

“This design features an all-carbon structure, a telescopic keel, a fixed Bimini and a generous sail plan, ensuring excellent all-round sailing performance,” explained Malcolm McKeon. “The contemporary exterior styling maximises the use of glass in the superstructure, creating a light and open interior with 360-degree views from the all-glass deckhouse.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interiors are yet to be revealed, though designer Adam Lay did mention that the living spaces will be “modern [and] nature-inspired”, defined by clean lines and muted wood tones. He continued: “Contrasting textural fabrics will form part of the carefully balanced aesthetic, with practicality and longevity kept in mind for relaxed family cruising.”<\/p>\n\n\n

The contract for the custom build was announced in June 2024, at which time Henry Hawkins, executive VP at Baltic Yachts, said: “This commission plays to Baltic Yachts\u2019 key strengths. We have delivered 12 yachts over 100ft [30 metres] LOA in the last 10 years, all within their contractual weight targets, within their original budget and on average within a week of their contractual delivery dates. A track record of which we are very proud.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
